Minimalist Morning Routine — 5 Steps

How you start your day, is how you start your life.

〰️

How you start your day, is how you start your life. 〰️

Let me preface by saying I’m an aspirational morning person. I’m far from perfect in following a daily plan, but I try to be as consistent as possible because I believe the above quote. How we start our day, is how we start our LIVES. It matters.

Repeat after me: 'a little goes a long way.' Set your alarm 20 minutes earlier than normal and incorporate these 5 rituals.

And before you jump ahead to overwhelm thinking of the perfect plan, let me tell you friends it is minimal. I am a busy mama of 3 (plus a puppy) and entrepreneur so always striving to do more with less.

Here’s a peek inside my minimalist mornings (but, first let’s go over the 5 rituals/rhythms)

WATER

MOVEMENT

SKINCARE

WELLNESS

GRATITUDE

Now, it doesn’t have to include all of these rituals (or any it’s totally up to you!). Use this as a jumping off point. And if you’re a newbie to morning routines, don’t overwhelm yourself by trying to do it all, just choose one thing and commit to practicing it daily for a week.

WATER:

I start with 16 oz water and if I’m really killing it, I double fist with a mug of hot lemon water to help rebalance hormones. Thanks for this tip to my glow coach @withveronika (if you don’t already follow her on IG she gives the best and most aesthetic holistic hormone health tips)

MOVEMENT:

Cue the minimal fitness burst. 5-10 minutes of a quick circuit. I like to do a mix of squats, lunges, pushups, and tricep dips all while I brush my teeth (if you’re familiar with habit stacking, combining a new activity with something you already do habitually, this helps solidify the habit).

SKINCARE:

I am a minimalist through and through, but am totally a non-toxic skincare MAXIMALIST! I love my holistic skincare from Oliveda and treat it as my self care moment twice daily. The steps include - cleanse, tone, serum, moisturizer, and primer (my Oliveda routine: F38, F67, F59, LA DOPE 003, and this new balancing face salve I found on Etsy made from grass-fed tallow is the ultimate minimalist must!).

WELLNESS

Onto drinkable skincare, I also love my Oliveda internals that keep my skin hydrated and glowing from within, while also boosting my immunity (the I01 and I70). And 8 oz of celery juice. I typically juice 2 heads of celery, 3 limes, 1 cucumber, and 2 green apples - this lasts for 3-4 days for both hubbs and I, this green juice is a hydration boost for your gut and skin.

GRATITUDE:

In all honesty this step often gets overlooked and I’d love to focus more on prayer, affirmations, and gratitude. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, but journaling specifics help cultivate grateful hearts. I’m reminded that I serve a limitless God where abundance overflows. He gives generously, is sovereign and invites us into His story every day.

Currently loving:

“I am grateful for the abundance in my life and I welcome more each day.”

I hope you walk away from this inspired rather than overwhelmed. Start your day even just 10 minutes earlier and focus on one thing. What will you choose this week?
